Confusion, fear, anger, and sorrow are all normal human emotions while confronted with devastating news of war. However, during distressing times like we are facing, how should God’s people respond?
Psalm 46:6 says, “The nations rage, the kingdoms totter…” Does this sound familiar? We are witnessing raging nations and we will continue to see nations rage. Kingdoms will rise up and kingdoms will fall. However, there’s hope. God continues in verses 8-9, “Come, behold the works of the Lord, how He has brought desolations on the earth; He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the chariots with fire.”
In the middle of raging nations and tottering kingdoms, God invites us to place our confidence in an everlasting Ruler who is Sovereign over all - Himself. God does not scramble for solutions, He is the solution for the chaos we face.
The empty tomb of Jesus demonstrates God’s mighty power over conflict and war. As Jesus was placed in the grave, sin and death could not defeat Him. On the third day, He arose victoriously. Sin does not reign. Death has been defeated.
